Sow ideas, grow knowledge, harvest wisdom.
As the world changes and agricultural industries evolve we need to continually seek new information and improve our understanding of how our world works to ensure the best human interaction with it.
Climate for change.
Human-induced climate change is happening now, and agricultural industries are projected to be amongst the hardest hit.
As the adverse implications of climate change amplifies the environmental and socioeconomic drivers of food insecurity, it is imperative that we act as a global community to tackle this issue through the 21st century and beyond. To achieve sustainable food production systems whilst safeguarding ecosystem stability, there must be a widely shared appreciation of agriculture as a multifunctional strategic land use that can provide: nutritious food; rural development and employment; environmental management; and cultural heritage vitality in agrarian communities.
The vast majority of farmers are already responding to climate changes – adapting to new conditions and mitigating emissions. This determination and innovation is making many of their farms more profitable and sustainable.

People. Past, present and future.
Farmers are known to tell a good yarn. They can conjure images of murmuring creeks, wheat crops rippling in the wind and apricot pink sunsets. They can elicit emotions from heart-racing stories of chasing micky bulls or of sadness when the last school in town closed down.
It is a farmer’s affinity to their surrounds that enable them to do this. When they talk about the land you feel their strong connection to it. When they speak about their livestock you know they have genuine concern for their wellbeing. Farmers have powerful voices, incredible stories, and are among the most trusted messengers in Australia.
